Banks know and love that Aussie are just lazy by nature!
We are creatures of habit but we can also can be a touch lazy in Australia. We also assume that our bank is looking after us. But they are running a business – and big business at that. I don’t really have a problem with that so much – but what I do have a problem with is indifference. You see we make it too easy for the banks – we trundle back to them even when they treat us badly – because we are too lazy to change.
The good thing is that there are lenders who are happy to provide excellent home loans without having to change your bank account – which means you can keep your account and internet banking and ATM card etc – but still get a really good deal (in fact a better deal with no ongoing fees in most cases!).
It’s good to keep them honest at least – and look sometimes we need to stay at the bank for ease of security or pricing reasons – but more often than not – banks have become lazy too – and they only seem to do anything about their service proposition when you tell them that you are leaving…and well in my opinion that’s too late.
It’s easy to shop around – use a Professional Mortgage Broker. They will quickly let you know if you should stay or look elsewhere.
